The End of Publishing, The Future of Publishing

Posted on March 26, 2010

Hello all,

It is spring break time, a week in the middle of school when most kids are off in sunny, warm locations like Mexico, The Bahamas, Florida and California. I however have chosen a different path. I am in beautiful Oregon, on the coast in the lovely town of Coquille. As is common at the Oregon coast the rain is making outdoor activities impossible. Consequently I have had a lot of time to catch up on the publishing world.

The iPad has everyone in an uproar (whether positive or negative I can’t tell as of yet), Diary of a Wimpy Kid hits theaters as does How To Train Your Dragon, IraqiGirl hits shelves and is going to be the Anne Frank of the 21st century, and a ton of other things are happening. Reorganization of upper level management in nearly every publishing house has the future of publishing looking confusing and unclear for anyone outside the industry. And speaking of the future of publishing, here is a link to a video entitled The End of Publishing, The Future of Publishing.

It is a great video, the talent involved in writing this never ceases to amaze me.

That is all for me this time, I am nearly finished with Angelology by Danielle Trussoni and will be reviewing it shortly.

Have a wonderful spring break everyone!
